Description: Cayenne pepper’s name is derived from a Tupi Indian name.  It is grown most commonly in India, East Africa, Mexico and the United States where the climate is tropical to subtropical.  Interestingly, the cayenne fruit is commonly used in the foods of these regions where their intense spice causes one to perspire and therefore helps to keep the people in these regions cooler.  These small green plants grow relatively large fruits.  The seeds in these fruits contain many of the potent enzymes.
