Name: Yerba Manza
Biological Name: Anemopsis californica
Common Names: Lizard Tail, Swamp Root, Yerba Del Manso.

Origin: Yerba Manza was used by Native American Indians of Southern California, Mexico and Arizona for man years.  Their primary origins are the wet places of Southern California and Northern parts of Mexico.  It was successfully used in malaria fevers, diarrhea and dysentery. 

Description: Yerba Manza is a beautiful wildflower  that blankets meadows with small white cone flowers.  It loves to grow in moist swampy conditions, yet it has a unique ability to sterilize the soil around it.  Its common name ‘Lizard Tail’ is due to the appearance of a long pink runner that it grows in spring.   The stem is erect and grows about a foot high with small slender branches.
